KWP Real Estate has reduced the annual kilowatt hours consumed at Jefferson Center by more than 3.5 million kilowatt hours. Since 2008, the energy conservation measures at Jefferson Center represent an annualized savings of approximately $332,000, accomplished through increasing the efficiency of the heating and cooling systems for the building through sequence modifications, the installation of dimming technologies and integrated motion sensors in the building's bathrooms and stairwells, and the replacement of halogen lighting in the lobby with LED technology. A number of Jefferson Center tenants have joined the energy conservation effort through lighting retrofits and other energy-saving strategies. The property team is continuing its building-wide efforts by working towards LEED certification.
